Steampunk Pendant
Create a steampunk-style pendant using a variety of metals - including brass, copper, and nickle silver. Learn how to add texture, apply cold connections, and finish off this neo-rustic piece with a patina.
Feel free to bring interesting metal scraps, chains, beads, hardware or doo-dads of your own to incorporate.
Mantra Bracelet
A Mantra is a phrase that can create and inspire transformation in our lives and help to free our minds.
Students will use hammers, punches, and a dapping block to add texture to copper discs in order to create a unique organic linked bracelet - no previous experience necessary.
Jewelry Bites
A quick paced workshop - students will design their own unique pendant using more than one element then learn how to create it by sawing, filing, finishing, texturing/stamping, making jumprings and using various types of cold connections.
Sawing 101
A great starting place for absolute beginners or a chance to refresh and refine your sawing skills. You'll use a jewelers' saw to fabricate a basic practice piece. Then create a unique pendant of your own design in copper, brass, or nickel.
Soldering I
Students will learn and practice 2 different soldering techniques using a small oxy acetylene torch and silver solder.
Students will then apply the different methods of soldering they learned to create a ring of their own design.
Soldering II
Students will learn and apply the sweat soldering technique and create a one of a kind pendant.
Wire Bracelet
After learning how to solder using sheet metal this class prepares you for the challenges of soldering wire.
And what better way to practice soldering on wire than to create a bracelet with repeating links?
Cabochon Stone Setting
Oooh, shiny objects! For the crow in each of us, finally a way to present our treasures to the world. Students will learn how to incorporate stones into their designs, bezel set a cabochon stone and create a one of a kind ring to treasure.
NEW! PMC Lentil Bead
Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...must be... Precious metal clay (PMC).
PMC is a relatively new material being used for jewelry making.
Come explore its unique properties and workability while creating a stunning one of a kind silver bead.
Pewter Casting
Students will learn how to carve a negative impression in plaster and cast molten pewter to create a one of a kind pendant while exploring different facets of their personality.
Riveted Reversible Pendant
Students will design and create a two sided pendant using cold connections. Experience with sawing is necessary. This is a labor intensive project but well worth the effort.
